Hey Jane, Spiritualized.
Long song, but I love the ebbs and flows and the constant forward movement. Good return for Spiritualized.

Comments of Bernard Lenoir during The Kills Black Session (2003)
So, Bernard Lenoir is the French version of John Peel in the radio world. He created the Black Session which are performances of live music broadcast on the radio. And some of this comments are just pure gems. That’s why I’ve decided to translate some of them and post them here.
« They’re doing a Black Session tonight at « La Maison de la Radio », at Studio 106 : The Kills ! They’re only two, but what a pair ! Alison, a.k.a. VV , on the right a lovely brunette with blue eyes who could have been a top model. She’s wearing blue jeans, a white t-shirt, very old boots and has some discreet tattoos. And she is turned towards him, she doesn’t take her eyes off him, Jamie. The formely member of Scarfo has became the Hotel of the Kills. They found amusing to rename themselves with funny nicknames, VV & Hotel. Musically, everything rely on him, the drumbox, that guitar he mistreats at will, and sometimes he uses his voice to answer the dirthy things she’s belting out. Very, very hot the Kills ! »
« Monkey 23 is one of the only slow songs of this Black Session. Otherwise, they move a lot on stage. Both of them actually, even if it’s inevitably her we look at. A lot of sensuality in this lanky lady, who ondulate, stagger, writhe, and who is constantly hammering the ground with her feet. »
« It’s true that sometimes it felt as if we caught them in their intimacy. I’ve received a mail for Matthieu who says « Sometimes, they end up face to face, and it felt as if we were in their bedroom ». No roadie to tune the guitar, Jamie does it on his own, with extracts from the tapes they sended each others for musical background. It’s what we’re currently hearing and it gives an unhealthy climate to this awkward ceremony of pernicious white groove. It exudes, screams, it makes you want to move like a monster. It’s pure Rock & Roll. The Kills. »
« The Kills’ music is spellbinding. We’d be quickly under hypnosis thanks to them. And now, the last song of the Kills. »
« The most phenomenal bit of nooky, virtual of course, ever seen onstage. It’s true that they give the impression to make love when they play. »
« Apocalyptic clash of the duet at the end of this Black Session. VV & Hotel were almost throwing into each other. There was some kind of higher bidding, which was a bit surprising. If one day, they’re playing concert in your town, don’t hesitate. »
